About Mickey
Mickey is currently a media server engineer at Show Sage, a Dataton Premium Partner company and the North American WATCHOUT distributor. He is also the 53rd and youngest ever Dataton-certified WATCHOUT trainer. His training credits include Google, Walt Disney Imagineering, LDI, USITT, and more.
Outside of his work, he is a theatre design and animation student at Columbia College Chicago, a student at the Academy of Animated Art studying lighting for animation, and a self-taught projection designer. His combined work and education give him a foundation to work in the video/projection design field, and the lighting for animation field, with his strong understanding of, and much experience with:
leading Dataton-certified WATCHOUT training classes and WATCHOUT installations
storytelling through theatrical projections and animated lighting
animating with multiple industry-standard software
using Adobe and alternative software to projection map 3D surfaces
combining 2D and 3D animation with mapping and theatrical storytelling to create projection designs
organizing and leading Dataton-certified WATCHOUT programmer training sessions
collaborating with various design and technical teams to deliver a cohesive final product
